WBS Presents on Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina to USGBC SC

USGBC South Carolina hosted a tour of the LEED-NC Certified Beach Club at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina on March 8th, 2018.  Susan Collins from Whole Building Systems, LLC presented on the LEED processes in place that helped the project meet its certification goals.

Collins noted that "this is the only project we've ever worked on that took advantage of a water taxi for public transportation credits in LEED!", as there is service between the marina and downtown Charleston locations. The project achieved a 35% energy reduction, by cost, led in part by an innovative water-source heat pump system and full LED lighting throughout the building.

Shawn Mellin of Glick Boehm Architecture, Chris Constantine of Constantine Engineering, and Sam Borgen of Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina also presented before touring participants throughout the facility.  WBS is proud to have provided LEED Administration, Energy Modeling, Incentive Management, and Commissioning services on this project.
