Dennis Knight Named an ASHRAE Fellow
Whole Building Systems today announced that CEO M. Dennis Knight, P.E., has been elected a Fellow from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) by the board of directors, the highest honor they bestow. Being designated an ASHRAE Fellow is an honor that recognizes distinction in the science of environmental technology and advancement of the built environment. Fellows are chosen because of their achievement as a researcher, designer, consultant, educator or engineer and their dedication to sharing knowledge with others in the industry.

Dennis is a visionary in understanding how integrated environments and Building Information Modeling can change the way the industry designs and constructs buildings for the good of all people through the conservation of natural resources,“ said Gordon V.R. Holness, PE, himself an ASHRAE Fellow, Life Member and past president of ASHRAE.
Mr. Knight, whose professional career spans 40 years, has been the founder and CEO of Whole Building Systems since 2011. Whole Building Systems is a Charleston, South Carolina based design engineering firm that specializes in energy efficiency and engineering consulting. Mr. Knight has been a long dedicated member of ASHRAE nationally where he is also a Distinguished Lecturer, Chair of the ASHRAE/IBPSA Joint Energy Modeling Conference, Vice Chair of the BIM Multidisciplinary Task Group, member of the TC 7.1 Integrated Building Design Committee, member of the Standards Committee and a two-time past president of the ASHRAE Charleston Chapter.
