Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Engineering

Whole Building Systems, LLC, a Charleston, SC based high-performance building consultancy, has an opening for a Sr. Project Manager of Mechanical Engineering.  We are looking for an individual who will take a leadership role in the company with the possibility of growing into an ownership role.  The right candidate will have 5+ years’ experience, an ingrained work ethic, and be a natural planner and problem solver.   Good communication skills, both oral and written, are key as this individual will be leading multidisciplinary teams, communicating with clients, and driving design and construction issues to resolution. This position affords the right individual the opportunity to learn from an industry veteran and also shape the future of the firm as it continues to grow.

Requirements: Technical

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree or work equivalent experience
  • PE a plus
  • Experience in MEP design, commissioning, systems installation or controls (or combination)
  • Experience conducting MEP design and specification reviews
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of construction management and building science
  • Familiarity with building certification programs a plus (LEED, WELL, LBC, Green Globes, BREAM) a plus
  • Experience in envelope design/construction a plus
  • Highly computer literate with excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Revit/BIM a plus

Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering

The right candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience and be an enthusiastic learner with a desire to assume increasing amounts of responsibility.  The right candidate will have a natural ability to plan and prioritize, work to deadlines, and communicate with others on multidisciplinary teams.  

Requirements: Technical

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management (or other with 1-2 years’ related work experience)
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
